About This Guide: Who Publishes It and How It Stays Honest

This guide is published by an independent editorial team in Ghana to help beginner traders learn how forex works.

Updated Sep 2026 · how we rate brokers

This guide is written for people in Ghana who are still learning

This guide is published by an independent editorial team based in Ghana. It exists for one reason: to explain how forex works to readers who are early in their learning, in plain language, with Ghanaian context. That means using GH₹ where relevant, working in GMT (UTC+0), and treating mobile money as a normal part of the conversation rather than an afterthought.

The team writes for beginners, not for experienced traders. If a topic needs a number, such as a fee or a minimum deposit, the guide tells you where to check it instead of guessing. You will see references to sec.gov.gh, broker funding pages, and the MTN Mobile Money app because those are the places where current, accurate figures live.

You will not find profit claims here. Forex involves risk, and no honest guide can promise an outcome. What this guide can do is explain the mechanics, the local session times, and the regulatory questions you should ask before sending money anywhere.

How this guide is funded and why that matters to you

This guide is funded by advertising and affiliate arrangements. That means some links to brokers or services may earn the site a commission if you sign up. This is a common model, and it is worth understanding because it shapes what you read online.

Funding does not buy a recommendation. No broker is described as licensed, safe, or best on these pages, because that judgement depends on checks only you can complete. Brokers are covered elsewhere on the site, and the same rule applies there: the guide explains what to check, not who to trust.

If you ever see a claim on this site that reads like a promise of profit, treat it as a mistake. The editorial rule is simple: no promises, no estimates of earnings, and no invented statistics. Where a figure matters, the guide points you to the primary source.

How corrections work when something is wrong or out of date

Corrections are handled by fixing the page, not by quietly deleting it. If a fact changes, such as a regulator's list or a payment option, the page is updated so the current version is the one you read. Readers can flag anything that looks wrong, and those flags are reviewed against the original sources.

The sources this guide relies on are public and checkable. For licensing questions, the starting point is the SEC Ghana licensed operators list at sec.gov.gh. For payment details, the MTN Mobile Money app and the broker's own funding page show the current position, not a snapshot from months ago.

One caveat is worth repeating because it confuses many beginners. Forex bureaux in Ghana are licensed by the Bank of Ghana, but online leveraged FX brokers are a separate question. That means a broker needs checking against both the Bank of Ghana and SEC Ghana, and this guide will not shortcut that for you.

What this guide will and will not do for you

This guide will explain session hours in your local time. Sydney runs 22:00 to 07:00 GMT, Tokyo 00:00 to 09:00 GMT, London 08:00 to 17:00 GMT, and New York 13:00 to 22:00 GMT. The London and New York overlap, 13:00 to 17:00 GMT, is often the busiest stretch of the day, which is useful to know when you are planning your learning around work.

This guide will also explain how money moves locally. MTN Mobile Money is the main payment rail, and other options include Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, bank transfer, and card. Which of these a broker accepts is a question for the broker's funding page, not for this guide.

What this guide will not do is tell you which broker to use, how much to deposit, or what to trade. Those decisions belong to you, made with current information from the regulator and the broker. The role here is to make sure you know what to check and why it matters.

Trading forex and CFDs on margin carries a high risk of losing more than you deposit. Most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
